Paranormal Encounters and Scientific Evaluations of New England

Gilson Road Cemetery Nashua, New Hampshire

The Gilson Road Cemetery is located in hilly and wooded terrain directly across the street from the Tanglewood Drive Condos in Nashua, New Hampshire. The cemetery is surrounded by a roughly constructed field stone wall. The site is approximately five hundred feet wide by one hundred-fifty feet deep.

The dates on the gravestones range from the late 1700s to the early 1900s. However, several broken granite markers without legible dates appear to be quite a bit older. There are relatively few grave markers given the size of the site. This suggests the possibility that some of the plots may be either unmarked or missing their headstones.  Genealogists have studied the graves in this cemetery with inconclusive results. Many of the interred are not listed on any census reports, so there's no way to trace the origins of the place.

It is believed that a home had been there in Colonial times (the Gilson family home), and murders had taken place in the home or at least nearby. The house had burned to the ground, and local residents decided it was wisest to use the land as a cemetery rather than try building on it again.

The Gilson Road area was reportedly the site of several vicious battles among Native American tribes from as far away as Maine and Connecticut.

Investigation # 003 - July 19, 2008
Investigators Present: Timothy Paige, Rebecca Knights, Christopher Reagan and Mary Brown(Medium)

As anyone who is into the paranormal knows, orbs are simply a manifestation of energy. Thoughts by many are that orbs are the precursor to paranormal activity. At Gilson Road Cemetery, we found that this may have proved true.

Our Medium, Mary Brown, sensed alot of Native American spirits just outside the walls of the Cemetery itself. Angered in most part by the consecrated land that was blessed by a Christian priest. They could not enter what they considered their land.

Aside from many strange temperature drops just outside the back walls of the cemetery, many 20 degrees below the average temperature, there were "feelings" of being watched and surrounded. The strange noise of something rushing in a frenzy towards the female investigators from just beyond the wall and the often heard "yelp" of a hollow female voice added to the strange occurrences at Gilson Road Cemetery.

Although we were under constant attack by hordes of demon mosquitoes, the air was rather still and the temperature was average for a July evening. The "orb" activity was right on par for what you'd expect of a burial ground. Discounting the hundreds of pictures of dust and bugs, these are the photos we submit for your review.

Pine Hill Cemetery Hollis, New Hampshire

Pine Hill Cemetery in Hollis, New Hampshire is believed to be very haunted.  Here is the history of this old cemetery.

In 1769, a man named Benjamin Parker Jr. donated the land for the cemetery when he sold his nearby farm. Pine Hill Cemetery is the final resting place for a number of old founding families. Many of the markers have not survived throughout time and there are many unmarked grave sites.  There are 291 deceased recorded as being buried in Pine Hill Cemetery.

The Farley family, descendants of Captain Caleb Farley, is buried here.  Captain Caleb Farley was one of the early settlers of the area. The earliest graves are those of two infants. Captain Farley was married three times but he never lived with his third wife.

Norman Howe is the Civil War hero in Pine Hill. He is mentioned in the letters of John Worcester. He died shortly thereafter, and his body was returned to Hollis. Louisa Rideout Jewett was a sister of Norman's mother and was married to Francis Jewett. They were divorced and he remarried. Their son Perley was always bitter towards his father because of the divorce. He always referred to him as "Mr. Jewett" and threatened to "knock his head off". Perley served in the Civil War and died of disease. He has a memorial stone in Pine Hill.

"Blood Cemetery" is the nickname for Pine Hill, in reference to Abel Blood, whose spirit supposedly haunts the cemetery.  Abel Blood was buried in 1867, his wife Betsy is buried there with him.  There are rumors that the Blood family were victims of murder.  The best known story of Pine Hill is about Abel Blood's headstone.  On his stone, there was a finger pointing upward that people have reported seeing it pointing downward after dusk.  Abel Blood's original headstone was vandalized and replaced.  To the best of my knowledge, there is no concrete evidence to support this story.  Some say not just the cemetery but also the road along side of it is also haunted.

Investigation # 004 - 004A - August/September 2008

Investigators Present: Timothy Paige, Douge Soule, Rebecca Knights, Mary Brown(Medium) Christopher Reagan and Leigh Bona

Investigation #004 yielded many temperature fluxuations, a few interesting light anomolies and the sounds of conversations heard in full. Oddly enough the conversations were heard by two investigators and one of them heard it through an ear that is partially deaf.........

Investigation #004A Saw a full squad of investigators going in two at a time. Along with the continuation of Temperature fluxuationsodd light anomolies continued to appear in photos. This investigation included one of our mediums and she was astounded by the activity that went on within the cemetery walls. Most of the investigators present had been to Pine Hill dozens, even hundreds of times before. Each visit with little to no activity to speak of. Why this evening seemed so alive is a question we will address in more detail when we return.
